Young WILPF Network
The peace movements of the 20th century were hard fought and hard won. But taking down the military industrial complex and realising gender equality remain colossal tasks. As young women activists, we are privileged to walk in the footsteps of some of the greatest champions of the anti-war movement, human rights and freedom.
Women of the world have diverse experiences because of variables such as nationality, ethnicity and class. This has been recognized and stated many times. However, one important variable, with a huge influence on a woman’s life, is often forgotten. That variable is age.
So in 2005, in recognition of the importance of age in a woman’s life experience, and the need to bring WILPF’s aims and principles to new generations, Young WILPF was born.
