The 22nd Congress of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, 31 July – 6 August, 1983 in Göteborg, Sweden:

The WILPF 22nd Congress asks Sections to press their governments (1) to put pressure on the United Kingdom and Argentina to resume negotiations as soon as possible under the auspices of the United Nations with a view to avoiding further violent conflict and ending the British colonial status of the Falkland Islands/Malvinas. (2) To call for a UN conference on the demilitarization of the South Atlantic.
