Europe Institute for Security Issues

August 5, 1995

The 26th Triennial Congress of the Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, August 1-6, 1995 in Helsinki, Finland:

The 26th International WILPF Congress fully supports the proposal put forward by Finland’s President, Ahtisaari to establish within the Organizations for European Security and Cooperation an ‘Institute for Security issues’, building on the experience gained within the Helsinki process.

We suggest that the entire human experience, especially that of women, regarding conflict resolution, human rights, early warning and ecology both in theory and practice should be utilized.

WILPF offers its expertise and hope for a fruitful cooperation in the future.
