Feminist Reflections on UN’s High Level Panel Report on Post-2015 Development Agenda
Last month, in May 2013, the High-Level Panel of Eminent Persons on the Post-2015 Development Agenda launched its report. A report that unfortunately does not meet our expectations and presents many loopholes.
A coalition of feminist and women’s rights organisations (to which WILPF is part of) express their opinions about this report that clearly lacks a human rights approach: it points out the economic value of human rights instead of highlighting their intrinsic value; and the numerous references to the private sector’s key role are also very concerning.
Let’s be brief: that report was a missed opportunity and more needs to be done.
