I'm sad to say I'm not surprised by the situation - it seems that
supporters of Israel's right-wing are determined to stifle debate in
our country. While I don't know how to change the minds of people
indoctrinated to support a militaristic, racist state, I am hopeful
that by opening up debate on US policy towards Israel & Palestine, we
can help move towards a just peace and statehood for both Palestine &
Israel.
I hope WILPFers are working to support academic freedom in their local
colleges and universities and continue to be visible supporters for
peace & justice in the region. I encourage everyone to use this
listserv to share their WILPF activities with one another.
WILPF International will be publishing resolutions on Palestine &
Lebanon this Friday.
