Dear C.J. and all, If we do not recognize the war
against women on every level of society in our work
that continually excludes women's voices in decision
making I feel that we misrepresent women in general. I
have only once met a woman in WILPF that has the
violent past that I have survived and quite recently
after nearly twenty years with WILPF. I am sure there
are other women in WILPF that have survived such
suffering in different ways For me feminism is
accepting and embracing women for who they are. I
thought when I was made a member of WILPF that I would
be accepted for me but found that an important part of
me continued not to be understood. Feminism has many
facets that include the homeless woman's, educated
women, poor women, wealthy women, (in mind, spirit and
material things}. We are all conected and have so much
to offer and that we are working for peace, justice
and freedom are our common goals.
"If you can walk, you can dance.
"If you can talk you can sing"
                A saying from Zimbabwe.
