Subject: Conference Call Teach-In on Annapolis Conference: December 13th, 2007

      Dear Libby,

      The U.S. Campaign will present a telephone teach-in on Thursday, December 13 at 9pm ET to provide some background on the recent Annapolis Conference and what it claimed to have acheived but in reality, what it really was.

      We will have two presenters, and then opening up for about an hour of Q&A and discussion on the call.

      Thursday, December 13th, 2007, 9 PM-10:15 PM ET
      Please RSVP to Omar Masri at office at endtheoccupation.org. We will then provide you with the conference call-in number and access code. Please mention the organization you represent, if any.

      Presentations will be given by Phyllis Bennis and Samar Assad followed by Q & A.
      <!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]-->
      Phyllis Bennis is a fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, DC and also sits on the US Campaign's Steering Committee. She has been a writer, analyst and activist on Middle East and UN issues for many years. In 2001 she helped found and currently co-chairs the U.S. Campaign to End Israeli Occupation. She works closely with the United for Peace and Justice anti-war coalition, and since 2002 has played an active role in the growing global peace movement.

      <!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]--> Samar Assad is the Executive Director of the Palestine Center, a Washington, D.C. based think-tank known for its analysis of U.S. policy towards the Middle East and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Prior to her appointment, Assad served as Senior Analyst at the Palestine Center for three years.

      CONFERENCE CALL ETIQUETTE
      Any supporter of the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation member group is welcome to participate in this conference call. To get on the call, just dial in to the number sent to you when you RSVP. The conference call hosting company will charge you the cost of a normal long-distance call, but nothing more than that.

      1. If you are not speaking or asking to speak, please mute yourself. You can mute by pressing *6 or the mute feature on many phones. Just before it is your turn to speak, unmute yourself by pressing *6 or the mute feature again.

      2. Stack: When we begin the Question & Answer section, the facilitator will ask who would like to be on the stack. That's conference call lingo for "who has a question?" Since she/he can't see you raise your hand, please call out your name (e.g. "James, stack"). The facilitator will make a list of people who want to speak, and then she/he will call off names from the list. When your name is called, it is your turn to speak. When all the people on the list (stack) have had a chance to speak, the facilitator will ask if she/he should start another stack (if there is time), and we repeat the process.

      The facilitator may decide to take several questions at a time before asking panelists to respond. To ensure that a range of voices are heard (race, gender, geography, organization, etc.), the facilitator will use her judgment as to whether to change the order of the stack or ask people to step back.

      3. Questions: To give the widest number of people the chance to ask questions, please limit your question to 30 seconds maximum. Also, if it is your turn to ask a question, please do ask a question rather than make a comment or launch a polemic (we've all been in meetings where that's happened!). The facilitator reserves the right to ask for conversations better suited for another forum to be moved to another discussion.

      4. Respect your facilitator: Facilitating a conference call with dozens of unseen people is not an easy task. Please support your facilitator by respecting his/her judgment as to how to proceed. If the facilitator needs help and you have a suggestion as to how to proceed, please call out your name (e.g. "James, procedural suggestion").
