[WCUSP] Fwd: NEWS: Portland City Council votes 5-0 to bring the troops home!

*Bravo Portland Oregon and Portland WILPF for work in getting the City
Council Resolution passed*.  This was  real community effort facilitated by
the AFSC with strong support from Peace and Justice Works and an ever
expanding coalition of local organizations. It started almost a year ago
with petitions requesting a resolution re bringing troops home form Iraq
circulating as early as February and March.

Institute of Policy Studies reports 272 cities  have already passed
resolutions. You can check the list  at

And voters in Massachusetts, WIsconisin and Illinois voted overwhelmingly
for bringing the troops home. The time is ripe. WILPF,  Let's go for it!
